What’s In Your Drink And Know When To Stop? DrinkIQ With Chris Gayle and Diageo

We all want to have a great night out after a hard days work, this has become a norm and a culture we have gotten adapted to. Celebrations of any kind or just to drown sorrow’s has led to grabbing that drink or two or more in the name of socializing or networking with friends. Are you governed by peer pressure? Getting sucked into peer pressure is one thing, but not being able to control your actions is another.

Did you know -* On average your body processes about one unit of alcohol every hour – and nothing can speed this up. This is an estimate only as the time taken to process the alcohol will depend on a variety of factors including gender, age, weight, health and lifestyle.

Chris Gayle, West Indian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bangalore player is the ambassador for Diageo’s unique initiative called DRINKiQ. DRINKiQ leverages an interactive resource to promote responsible drinking through sharing of best practice tools, information and initiatives. I had the opportunity to meet with the cricketer, and get some great insight into what goes into drinking and how much our body can handle. Here is what Chris Gayle has to say 🙂

Taking control of your life and making informed decisions is a must! Living a well balanced life and being responsible is the key to longevity. “Get the most out of life by making informed decisions about your lifestyle choices” is the motto that Diageo is trying to inculcate.

Skinnygirldiariez has always promoted drink responsibly. To all of you reading this post, please take care, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE, no matter how you are feeling. One tiny mistake can or could cost you or someone’s life. Hire a taxi or have a designated driver for the night in your group. Ensure he or she does not drink.

Enjoy a drink or two, but pace yourself, one drink per hour!! Yes you read that right, 30ml or a pint of beer or a tasting pour of wine per hour. That is the rule of thumb. Enjoy the night, Enjoy your life for it is precious.

I would describe myself as someone who loves to eat good food and travel, am polished and classy, yet have that little girl spirit in me and my fashion sense is chic which has to be accompanied with bold statement pieces and fresh accessories. I love to get pampered, totally spoil myself, and why not? xoxo Deena Pinto #skinnygirldiairez

  • On Tv he always seemed to be a very calm quiet person. To see him spread this kind of socially responsible message is surprising at the same time feels good 🙂 no.one but oneself can be responsible for one health….no one but ones own self will suffer when that goes for a toes
