1) What does travel mean to you?
Travel is essential as it enhances your sense of being. You discover different cultures and learn to accept who you really are. You grow and learn to appreciate things in a new light!
2) Is there a place you’ve always wanted to go to for Christmas? Why?
Being a beach bum, I would have to say Hawaii. This island has festive vibes all through the year. Instead of a white, snowy Christmas, you get to celebrate it on white sandy beaches. Their beaches are some of the best in the world. I’ve always wanted to try out surfing there as Hawaii’s beaches have some good breaks. I’m looking forward to crossing this off my bucket list soon.
3) Which was your most memorable Christmas trip? Tell us more about it.
My most memorable Christmas trip would have to be the one to Thailand. My little sister, Doreen, and I spent three weeks there until New Year. We lived like the locals, backpacking. Christmas Day on a beach is the best!
4) How do you think travel blogging has changed over the past few years?
I think travel, in general, is now more of a hobby that has turned into passion and work. With the advent of social media platforms, getting a wider reach is easier, provided you release fresh content, have good taglines and great images that spin extra magic to lure the reader.
5) What advice would you like to give to aspiring travel bloggers?
My advice would be to set a time frame, a goal as to how you want your blog to grow and where you want it to reach. Keep in mind that writing great content is just one aspect of getting followers and fame. Clicking and sharing amazing images and even short videos is another important part. Follow your passion, identify a niche you are good at and stick to it!
