Growing up as a kid, I was always fascinated by Halloween. Its is one time that you get to chose to be or look as scary as you can. The choices to buy some of the best costumes is a far cry from what it used to be.
India has ensured its not left behind in celebrations. The Phoenix Market City, Bangalore hosted a Halloween festival (second edition). This one was with a twist, adding spirits (Wine), hence called Hallo-Wine! I am a huge fan of this mall and love the brands they house. But this time it was a non-shopping experience. I got to spend more time on their open ground and enjoy.
The event took place from 27th – 29th October 2017. Some of the finest domestic wines were showcased at the event. Some of us influencers and blogger got to attend on 28th Oct’17. The wines were sold either glass (taking advantage of tasting a lot more varieties). Or you could buy the entire bottle and share with family and friends.
Major attraction was the grape stomping session. The wine that were showcased were Big Banyan, Black buck, Sula, Grover Zampa to name a few.
For the foodies alike, you could take your pick of some fast food via Bar Bar, Smoke Signal BBQ (Truck), The Rolling Chef and Cafe Noir. My top picks for the night out were the double decker cheese burger (beef) from the Smoke Signal BBQ and the chicken slider from Bar Bar.
I sampled almost all the wines that evening. I meant to stay for a while, but the entertainment was a distraction and I lost track of time. Stayed longer than I had intended to.
Entertainment varied from the famous Annabelle character & the Skeleton Man at the venue apt for Halloween, to live band performances by Billy Rouge featuring Riccha Paul, Illusionist Aakarsh, Karaoke Jockey Naveen, Zehen feat. Etram Dance Academy, DJ night by DJ Vipul Khurana and hip-hop in Latin American style by Artesanato Pulso.
This was my first attendance at the Hallo-wine Festival. It was definitely unique with wine, music, food, and loads of fun. And I look forward to the one next year for their third one in 2018.
