For The Love Of Pad Thai! Head To The Ritz Carlton To Savor Authentic “Flavors Of Thailand”
Who does not love a good food festival, that too Thai cuisine? My personal favorites are Tom Yum Soup and a good serving of Seafood Pad Thai, and couple of Banana Nuetella Pancake (this could be a staple diet). Nostalgia strikes back about my trip to Thailand where my sister and I travelled across Krabi. Our favorite being Railay. It was a surreal trip.
The Ritz Carlton have hosted several Culinary Festivals like Middle Eastern, Italian and Singaporean. This time we have visiting Chef K. Aong from Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Krabi, Thailand.
The Flavors of Thailand promises to feature accents from Thai Cuisine. The festival is from 19th to 25th September, served both for lunch and dinner.
I had the opportunity to try out some of the dishes from the “Flavors of Thailand” menu. After a mundane couple of weeks it was nice to step out for dinner and catch up with the other bloggers of the city.
I quiet liked the way The Market had spruced up the decor with some Thai art work. The most appealing was the leaning Buddha statue at the center of the restaurant.
What’s on the Menu?
Thai cuisine is popular for its complex flavors. Brought about by the practiced hand of the Chef-in-charge and usage of special ingredients.
Soup
Tom yam (Seafood) (vegetarian options available)
Salads
– Yum wun sen moo – a popular glass noodle salad
– Lab gai – another well-loved salad with minced chicken, fragrant with kaffir lime and mint
– Som Tam – with raw papaya and crushed peanuts
Appetizers / Mains
– Baamee Phad Ke Mau – Thai style noodle
– Keang Dang Moo (pork)
– Tao Hou Phad Prik Pao ( tofu)
– Phad Pong Karee ( veg)

– Pla Thod Prik Thai Dum ( fish)

– Goong phad preaw waan – with prawns, cucumber, pineapple, tomatoes
I personally loved the raw papaya salad, in fact, the taste was as authentic as the one out of the streets of Thailand. Highly recommended!
My other favorite and I had a second helping was the Tom Yum Seafood Soup. The other favorite I indulged in was the Pad Thai. As its a buffet you can pick and chose any of the dishes above.
I wanted to close my dinner with a Banana Nutella Pancake. However, they had run out of Bananas so I stuck to the good old Nutella Pancake.
The Market serves an extensive buffet, so you can take your pick especially at the dessert counter.

Good food and great company always make for a lovely evening. I was uber stuffed by the end of the night. I close my evening with a nice cup of mint tea.
