A Daycation Experience @ Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa, Bangalore

Bangalore is always bustling. It can get a little mundane with the same places to dine in or hang out! And you are always on the look out for that quick getaway. A Daycation is the best option to unwind and rid yourself the monotony.
I recently took sometime out to spend a day in total serenity. The drive took about an hour, however, on making that final turn towards Clarks Exotica Resort & Spa, it didn’t look like I was in Bangalore at all! It is located in Swiss Town, and true to its name the venue was so vast and the surrounding spacious and breathtaking, overseeing the Nandi hills from a distance.

– Getting There –

Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa is located in Swiss Town, Hollywood Junction, Sadahalli Post, Devanahalli Road. It is about 10kms or about 20minutes drive from the Bangalore International Airport.  And about 30kms from MG Road. So I planned  9am to 6pm as ideal for this Solo Daycation.

– The Resort –

On arrival at the venue, the atmosphere suddenly went from noisy to calm and serene. The 70 acres of property was lush green and surrounded by well manicured lawns and flora. It definitely induced a sense of freedom to every guest visiting. Popular for its visits by corporates that hold conferences and team building activities to housing some of the major music gigs this property boasts some of the best services that resorts have on offer. Each pathway was well addressed and lead you to the convention center, restaurants, the pool and the spa. The best mode of transport inside the venue is to cycle else by foot.
For those looking to stay the night or two, Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa,  offers luxurious chic spacious serviced rooms. Ideal for a weekend getaway!

– The Pool –

I spent some time lounging by the pool and inspite of the weather being nippy, I took the plunge. I was enticed by the poolside bar and enjoyed my cocktail. More comfortable now with the water temperature, the weather was on my side, nice and sunny, and I didn’t want to leave. There is a bar called Illusion Bar at the pool, which conjures up some fantastic cocktails. The Buvette Coffee Shop right next to the pool is the best of the lot, where you can soak up the sun and order some fresh juices, enjoy their fresh baked pastries and cookies.

– Food & Drinks –

The fine dining restaurant Ambrosia – serves Continental, Asian and Indian cuisine. It is a buffet styled dining, and the menu is updated daily. For the ease of the number of guests at the resort it works out best, as there is a lot of variety and ensure ease of service. But you can take a dig at the ala carte menu as well. What struck my attention at this restaurant were the interiors – the lovely 3D work of art on display.
I quiet enjoyed the meal, but didn’t gorge on too much as I had my Spa appointment and had to watch myself.

– The Spa –

It was time for me to get pampered and reinvigorated, the real reason I was here. Seventh Heaven Wellness Spa offers a 14 types of therapies at this award winning spa. Best part it comes equipped with a salon as well.
The spa is spread over 11000 sq ft of treatment rooms and relaxation areas, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. The treatments range from Classic Swedish, Balinese and Thai massage, to Chinese foot reflexology. Theyhave couples therapy rooms. Body and skin care treatments as well. So you can just indulge and later head to the salon to get a fresh blow dry and walk out looking like a million bucks.
I did just that. I took up the much talked about and their best -The Seventh Heaven Balinese Magic. It is a combination of acupressure using aromatic oils – 60 mins of pure bliss. Steam, sauna and a shower later I felt relaxed and ready to take on the world. You can opt in for a head massage with or without oil, as the salon was next door I was brave to get the massage with oil. The Balinese massage uses techniques that push, and pull the skin to help in blood circulation and ease the muscles.
Post the shower, I was whisked away to the Salon. I had my hair blow dried and set. Before one last cuppa coffee as the sun set I took a little stroll around before my cab was ready to take me home.

You can take your pick from the various indoor and outdoor activities like Basketball, Cricket, Badminton, Squash or just hit the Gymnasium. For readers you can find your quiet spot and relax in their lounge area.

– My Final Thoughts –

Over all, a day of pampering and relaxation. I had a fantastic day, the staff – the massures and the hair stylist I have to give them a big thumbs up. Both were very professional and ensured I had a great experience.
The Clarks Exotica Convention Resort & Spa, Bangalore is a definite oasis. The offers are unbelievable and open to public provided prior reservations are made. Walkin guests will find it hard to get a spa appointment as its literally full with their in house guests.
I have to go back with my set of friends. You can chose a day package – lunch, high tea and access to the pool and other sporting amenities. And book your spa as well at an additional cost.

I would describe myself as someone who loves to eat good food and travel, am polished and classy, yet have that little girl spirit in me and my fashion sense is chic which has to be accompanied with bold statement pieces and fresh accessories. I love to get pampered, totally spoil myself, and why not? xoxo Deena Pinto #skinnygirldiairez
